A great concept in urban gardening has been Community Orchards. Easier to maintain than a vegetable garden, orchards provide a number of services. Economically they provide locally grown produce for members of the community. They act as a focal point for community interactions and educational programs. The project has focused the communities environmental initiatives providing a project the brings concerned citizens together. The orchards provide a number of environmental benefits. These include increased biodiversity, habitats, erosion control, and nutrient cycling. The project has created a video to help promote the project.
